Our Projects

Transforming communities through education, empowerment, and action.

Since 2022, Be.The.Change Malaysia has led initiatives focused on inclusive education, emotional empowerment, indigenous outreach, and community development. Each project is designed to address real challenges faced by underserved communities — ensuring that support is both impactful and sustainable.

2023 – Strengthening Community Roots

Christmas Drive – Rainbow Home

On Christmas Eve 2023, we brought joy to Rainbow Home, a shelter established in 2002 for underprivileged, abandoned, abused, and orphaned children.
With 18 children currently under its care, many from Indigenous backgrounds, the visit aimed to provide comfort, warmth, and love during the festive season.
Seeing their smiles reminded us that sometimes the greatest gift is simply making a child feel seen, supported, and safe.

Special Needs Thrive – Rumah Sayang (Shah Alam)

We spent a meaningful day at Sayang – Pusat Penjagaan Anak-Anak Istimewa in Shah Alam, a self-funded non-profit supporting children with ADHD, multiple disabilities, Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.

Through tie-dye batik and creative art activities, the children showcased their imagination and abilities. The experience reinforced the importance of patience, optimism, and inclusive care.

Therapies such as hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and multi-sensory stimulation continue to support their growth toward achieving their fullest potential.

Tree Planting Workshop – Batu Kurau, Perak

We conducted a tree-planting workshop with 18 rural primary students in Batu Kurau, Perak.

Gardening was chosen intentionally to teach:

• Patience — good things take time

• Responsibility — caring for living things

• Empathy — nurturing growth

• Accountability — tending to what we plant

Through digging soil, watering plants, and working together, the children learned that with

care and consistency, beautiful things bloom.

2024 – Expanding Impact & Regional Outreach

Booklet Self-Esteem Workshop – OpenHands Fellowship 2024

In 2024, we led a self-esteem workshop at OpenHands Fellowship orphanage using a specially designed empowerment booklet.

From monochrome pages to vibrant masterpieces of self-love, each child expressed their uniqueness through colours and affirmations. The workshop reinforced how attentive listening, compassionate teaching, and encouragement can transform self-worth.

Painting Workshop – Rumah Sayang

Returning to Rumah Sayang – Pusat Penjagaan Anak-Anak Istimewa in 2024, we organised a painting workshop focused on creative expression.

Art became a bridge beyond words, allowing children to explore emotions and individuality. We also explored the multisensory room, an inclusive learning space tailored to support children with special needs.

Seeing children thrive in these environments reaffirmed that inclusive spaces truly make a difference.

Educational Visit – PIO Cambodia

In 2024, we visited PIO in Cambodia, where over 1,500 children welcomed us with joyful chants of “Hai Malaysia.”

Despite facing immense challenges, each child radiated resilience and hope. From educational programs to vocational training sessions, PIO’s holistic approach providing education, life skills, and nourishment is shaping future leaders and changemakers.

This visit reinforced the transformative power of structured support and the boundless potential within every child.

2025 – Infrastructure & Sustainable Educational Support

School Supply Thrive – Barakah Learning Centre, Langkawi

Our first 2025 initiative brought us to Barakah Learning Centre in Langkawi.

Education thrives when children are equipped with the right tools. By providing essential school supplies, we ensured students had the materials needed to learn confidently and consistently.

Every child deserves the chance to succeed academically.

Educational Wildlife Experience

As part of our mission to empower youth through exposure beyond textbooks, we organized an educational wildlife experience.

Seeing wildlife up close sparked curiosity, compassion, and environmental awareness planting seeds of responsibility and thoughtful leadership.

Experiences shape perspective, and perspective shapes changemakers.

Project Cahaya – Sekolah Dalam Hospital Orang Asli Gombak

“Cahaya” means light.

In just three months, Project Cahaya established Malaysia’s first Sekolah Dalam Hospital dedicated to Orang Asli children at Gombak Hospital.

This initiative ensures children undergoing long-term or repeated treatment continue receiving education while healing.

We built:

• A full classroom
• A mini library
• Reading corners
• Educational tools and materials

With RM15,000 worth of in-kind contributions, Project Cahaya became more than a classroom, it became a lifeline.

Healing and learning now happen together.

2026 – Indigenous & Coastal Outreach

Project Lestari Laut – Kg Sungai Dua

On 15 February 2026, Project Lestari Laut brought volunteers to Kg Sungai Dua, an Orang Asli village, under the Learning by the Waves initiative.

After an hour’s journey by road and ferry, volunteers conducted:

• English lessons (human body, colors, months)
• Fitness activities
• Hygiene awareness sessions
• Sun protection education

School bags, books, toys, and stationery were gifted to support the children’s academic journey.

Project Lestari Laut was not just about teaching, it was about connection, compassion, and creating waves of change through small acts of kindness.

2028 – Movement Goals

Upcoming Movement: Empowering Minds by 2028

We are launching a transformative educational movement with the mission to spread emotional intelligence education across ASEAN and beyond. At the heart of this movement is a self-help podcast for educators, learners, and anyone passionate about personal growth, designed to provide practical tools for managing emotions, developing empathy, and improving mental wellbeing.

Our goal is to:

  • Educate and Inspire: Bring the benefits of emotional intelligence education to schools, communities, and organizations.
  • Reach Across Borders: Travel throughout ASEAN and beyond to share knowledge, host workshops, and engage with communities.
  • Provide Resources: Launch a podcast featuring experts, educators, and thought leaders in emotional intelligence and self-development.
  • Build a Supportive Network: Create a global community of learners, educators, and advocates for emotional wellbeing.

By 2028, we envision a world where emotional intelligence is not just taught but lived, empowering individuals to thrive personally, socially, and professionally.

Every initiative reflects our commitment to inclusive education, emotional empowerment, and sustainable community development.

Our projects are not one-time visits — they are steps toward building a more compassionate and equitable future for the next generation.

Building ChangeS That Lasts

Be.The.Change Malaysia is more than an initiative — it is a commitment to ensuring every child has access to education, dignity, and opportunity.

Through structured programs and sustainable partnerships, we continue working toward a future where compassion leads and communities thrive.
